Being multilingual gave me a unique perspective on the power of language. I wanted to use my strengths to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, much like the teachers who inspired me and shaped my journey. I also recognised a significant gap in traditional education systems—teachers who didn’t care enough about imparting knowledge. This lack of passion drove me to become the kind of teacher who not only educates but also motivates and connects with students on a personal level.
2. Building Rapport: Teaching With Heart
One of the unique strategies I’ve implemented is teaching as a “big brother.” Before addressing the mind, I strive to win the heart of every student. Establishing trust, understanding, and rapport is the foundation of my teaching. Once that connection is built, the methodology naturally follows. As I always say, “Anyone can teach, but not everyone can inspire.”
3. Personalised Lessons: Tailoring Education for Individual Success
Every student is unique, and so are their learning needs. To ensure each student thrives, I start by understanding their goals, level, and challenges. By identifying strengths and weaknesses, I create a personalised roadmap for their success. Using level-appropriate materials, songs, and interactive lessons, I make learning not just effective but also enjoyable.
4. Emphasising Communication: The Core Skill for Success
While academic growth is essential, I place a special emphasis on communication. Speaking confidently and effectively is, in my opinion, the most valuable skill. Before we write anything, we must first speak to people. This is why I incorporate practical communication exercises into all my lessons, alongside academic subjects, to ensure a well-rounded development for my students.
5. The Impact: Real-Life Success Stories
My methods have helped students achieve significant milestones, especially in interview preparation for jobs or acceptance into renowned schools. By integrating elements of drama and rehearsal, I’ve turned potentially stressful interviews into opportunities for students to shine. The results speak for themselves—all students who’ve worked with me have successfully achieved their goals.
6. Core Values: Encouraging Independent Thinkers
Education isn’t just about teaching facts—it’s about shaping individuals who can think independently and express themselves meaningfully. My goal is to create students who aren’t just parrots repeating information but confident speakers and critical thinkers who can articulate their ideas with depth and accuracy.
7. Blending Academic Growth With Personal Development
Academic success and personal growth go hand in hand. In my teaching, I aim to instil confidence in my students and help them see the world from multiple perspectives. This balance ensures that they excel academically while growing as thoughtful, self-assured individuals.
8. Looking Ahead: My Vision for the Future
My ultimate goal is to empower people through language acquisition. As the Turkish saying goes, “A person who speaks another language is worth two people.” Language isn’t just a tool for communication; it’s a gateway to freedom, understanding, and growth. I want to continue freeing individuals by teaching them how to communicate effectively and break down barriers through the power of language.
Final Thoughts: Education That Transforms
Education is about much more than lessons and exams—it’s about transformation. By focusing on personalised teaching, building meaningful connections, and emphasising critical skills like communication, I’ve aimed to create an environment where students thrive academically and personally.
Whether it’s helping a student ace an exam, land a job, or simply speak with confidence, the goal has always been the same: to inspire, empower, and liberate through education.
